June Kids' Book Club - Sat., 6/28 on ZOOM!

For this month's book club, we will read and discuss The Cartoonists Club by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud. "A one-of-a-kind friendship story about creativity and self-expression that blends how-to and comics magic. The Cartoonists Club, where kids can learn about making comics and use their creativity and imagination for their own storytelling adventures!"

Recommended for 3rd-8th grade readers. Read summary reviews from young readers here.

Given families' travel schedules in June, this meetings will be held via ZOOM!

June's Collection Drives!

This June, we’re proud to support Texas Advocacy Project’s Handbags for Hope and Backpacks for Hope campaigns, which provide critical resources to victims of power-based abuse across Texas.

We are collecting NEW purses, totes, diaper bags, and backpacks to be donated through these impactful programs. In addition to offering hope and safety, each backpack is filled with brand-new school supplies, giving children a positive, confident start to the new school year. All donated bags are distributed to shelters, clinics, and crisis centers throughout Texas.

Please donate only NEW bags. Drop-offs are welcome at both our South and Central locations throughout the month of June.

We’re also kicking off our 2025 School Supply Drive!
Help us ensure that every child served by our nonprofit partners is equipped for success. We’re now collecting new school supplies—everything from notebooks and pencils to folders and crayons—to stock backpacks for families before the new school year begins. Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities to help sort and pack!

Drop donations at our Central or South Austin office or order from our Wishlist and have them shipped directly to us.

Process for At-Home Projects

We have a new quick check-out / check-in when picking up materials and dropping off completed projects! Huge thank you to those already doing this! It is already helping us tremendously.

Simply scan the QR code each time you are picking up materials and answer a few quick questions. When dropping off your completed project, you'll scan the other QR code, answer those questions and vóila, we'll know which materials were picked up and which projects turned back in without having to drive all over town or bug you about it!
