Kids' Book Club is Back!

After a brief hiatus, we are thrilled to announce the relaunch of our Kids' Book Club on Sunday, November 16 at 1pm in the BookPeople 2nd floor amphitheater!

We have chosen a pairing of books that examine the refugee experience from two different lenses.

Readers can choose between two options:

The new graphic novel adaptation of Alan Gratz’s novel Refugee
The 2024 National Book Award winner, Kareem Between by Shifa Saltagi Safadi

FALL FOOD DRIVE!

It's almost time for the Fall Food Drive with our amazing sponsor, Julie G Homes, to support the Central Texas Food Bank and we need your help in multiple ways!

1. Bring us your handled paper and/or thick plastic grocery bags to be used for food collection. You can drop them off at any of these five locations:

North: 2314 Keegan’s Way, Cedar Park (anytime on the porch, Central: 3710 Cedar St., Unit 15, Austin (M-F, 8am-4pm), South: 9400 Alice Mae Ln., Ste. 211 (M-F, 8am-5pm), 10710 Pinkney Ln or 7305 Jaborandi Dr. (anytime on the porch)

2. Volunteer at our bag-tagging party on Saturday, November 1 to help get 6500 bags ready to be placed on porches in SW Austin!

3. Volunteer to deliver bags to porches anytime November 3-10 in Circle C, Meridian, Avana, and Grey Rock. This is a great family-friendly activity that gets everyone outdoors in the (hopefully cooler) Fall weather!

Process for At-Home Projects

Please utilize our check-out / check-in when picking up materials and dropping off completed projects! Simply scan the QR code each time you are picking up materials and answer a few quick questions. When dropping off your completed project, you'll scan the other QR code, answer those questions and vóila, we'll know which materials were picked up and which projects turned back in!
